My Powerbook has ARRIVED, biotch! It's all shiny and spiffy and pretty. I can't help but love it, even if it IS a Mac. I just really hope my iRiver's compatible with it. I got all my software installed on it, and now I'm waiting to move in to the dorm so I can hook it up to the internet. Trillian works with Macs, right? >_>;

AND, guess what? I'm employed! It's McDonald's, but it's at the student center, right in the middle of campus practically, and it means I'll have money for toiletries and expenses and emergencies and maybe a night out or two. And Chinese food, don't forget that. But, yeah, Grandma dropped me off at noon, and picked me up at 12:30; I handed in my application and was told to come back at 3:30 for an interview. And I got the job! Orientation is on Monday at 4. The manager on duty told me that the first two weeks are really busy, but if I can get through them then I'll do fine. I know fast food isn't my dream job, but it's a job, right?

Also, I'm taking the moment to do a bit of advertising. I've got a roleplay that I've started, Sacra Urbs, that's based (loosely) on the Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter novels. It's set in Charleston, and right now I have no members save me. There are a couple interested parties ([livejournal.com profile] maladaptive and [livejournal.com profile] orthanc), but one of them has said they might be too busy for it, so that leaves me in a bit of a pickle. Anyway, check it out. Please. I'll love you forever.

About the only bad thing that's happened today is my headphones broke -- the ones I've had for about one and a half to two years. The spring in one of the earpieces broke. Hafta get new ones tomorrow, I guess, at the same time Grandma buys me a new watch. Woot.

Tuesday I went into Jackson to clean up my room at Mom's house, and then I met Jessica at the Thunderbird. We "stole" her friend Jason after he got off work, and between the Thunderbird and Jessica's house I'm surprised he didn't drive off. Kidding, but he did surprise me a little -- he called me hot. That merited a kiss on the forehead. ^_^ He walked me to my car when I had to leave, and I got up the nerve to ask him for his number and email, and if he wanted to hang out sometime. He said yes and we exchanged info, and then I went home and went to bed. Wednesday I got up at about 8:00, since at 9:00 I went to go get a meningitis shot. (I hate shots. If we were meant to have long, sharp, metal things jabbed into our arms, there would be slots there.) Then Mom and I went to the library, where we ordered my comp and software, and then to Best Buy to get a TV and a printer. We looked at microwaves, but the ones that are the size the school allows aren't even good for popcorn, only reheating things, so we decided to remeasure the microwave at home to see if it was small enough. (It wasn't.) Then I went to the optometrist, where I got my trial contacts, and then we went home where I had time to eat more cereal for lunch before I ran to my dentist appointment. And then I hung out with Jessica and Jason again. One of Chris F's exes came in, the guy who stole Chelsey's book, and I went with him for a little bit to go see Chris since I lost his number. He's doing okay. It seems that, whenever I see him, he's NEVER single. NEVER. How does he get so many boyfriends when Jackson's gay population isn't really that large?! Anyway, I got back to the Thunderbird around 8:30. The place was closed, but Jess, Jason, Chris' ex, Jess' friend, and I hung around outside for an hour until I had to leave. During that hour I did a LOT more flirting than I think I've ever done before. None of it was subtle. (When have I ever been, anyway?) And, feeling rather bold, I ... er ... asked Jason if he would want to go out sometime. He said maybe and that it would be hard to do so since I live in K-zoo and don't exactly have a lot of money, and he's looking for a better job and all, and Chris' ex chimed in that long distance relationships are pretty hard to maintain and stuff.

Um ... I meant, like, a date. One date. You know, as in a precursor to a possible relationship, in which two parties evaluate whether they would want to be in said relationship with the other individual? I was not referring to anything binding. That would be getting even more ahead of myself than I have a tendency to do.

He did give me a kiss on the cheek (mostly at my asking) before I left. Bah. I probably came on too strong, but I don't know how else to behave around guys I'm interested in.
