I finished Twilight.

Whenever I read this, Bella has a high-pitched Valley Girl accent, and Edward's voice is monotone. Makes it a little bit funnier.

God, this book was boring, even for teen romance. Bella is a whiny, spoiled, obsessive brat who can't live once she meets Edward, and I wanted her to die. Edward is a creepy stalker (seriously, he watched her SLEEP for two freaking months and when he told her she was FLATTERED) who can't decided on a personality, and the whole relationship between them just gives me this really creepy "taking advantage of being older/having more authority to get with this chick" vibe. Especially with how clingy and dependent Bella becomes. Also, the whole "Bella faints/gloms Edward/HER HEART STOPS FREAKING BEATING when Edward kisses her" thing is even more idiotic than the sparking shit. WHO MAKES VAMPIRES THAT SPARKLE???!?!?!!!???!?!

I wonder if I can find someone to perform an exorcism on my computer or something.

I want to say that books like that getting published mean that i have a pretty good chance, but we know that that isn't how it works :D

Who wrote it?

[identity profile] thesaneminority.livejournal.com 2008-07-13 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Stephanie Meyer. And a lot of the shit in the book is kind of explained when you realize that the author is a Mormon.

That's what I tell myself too, and then I remember all the excellent writers out there who never get published.

We've been talking about this book a lot. I haven't even read it and I hate it. :D

Bella sucks. In the next two books she whines about wanting to become a vampire, Edward is (as usual) a dick and she can't see that, and I lose my faith in vampire/werewolf/supernatural/fantasy fiction. Like I said before, we should have a book burning for these books...but not here in Germany. They've already had those and it didn't go down well.

LOL I is late

Or we could write our own and blow them all out of the water... :D

Holy crap. And my friend Georgi read this book 21 freaking times.

Clearly her (his?) brain has been melted by the sheer badness of this book, and she (he?) has been driven to such madness that she (he?) can do little else but return to the very thing that ruined her (him?).

That, or she (he?) has very bad taste in literature.

i want to read this book just to understand what everyone is talking about. i hear endlessly about how bad it is! i want to experience the bad!

I haven't deleted the file yet if you really want to read it. That way you don't have to waste money on it.

You know what, I liked the book.

That's cool. You're allowed to like it, and I'm allowed to hate it. Kind of like I'm allowed to like Zuko/Katara, and you and everyone else are allowed to like Katara/Aang.
