I just got back from seeing Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix with a friend. That's the fourth movie in two weeks - Ratatouille and Transformers last week, Sicko on Monday, and Harry Potter today - and Friday I'll be seeing 1408 with Jimmy and Kimi, and Saturday it'll be Fantastic Four with Mom and Rob. That's six movies in two weeks - I barely go to the theater that many times during a year.
The movie wasn't half bad. It definitely didn't seem like it was two and a half hours long. I think it passed so quickly for me because I kept waiting for things to pop up, but of course they cut out half of the book so it didn't even register as complete. I'm kind of amazed I didn't remember all of the Quidditch stuff until three quarters of the way through the movie. I guess that's the problem with all of the Harry Potter movies, actually - they're fun to watch, but they're really just heavily abridged versions of the books. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it does grind my gears when people think that the movies are just like the books. (Or that any movie is exactly like the book it's based on. It's not.And if I ever hear "Why don't you just watch the movie?" ever again I'm going to stab that person in the face with something rusty and blunt.)
On another note, I must say, the guy who plays Neville is absolutely adorable, though I'm not sure if I'm infatuated with him or the character. I would totally go out with Neville if he was real.
