Monday night was interesting, to say the least. Zac, Lauren and I were coming back from a food run in Lauren's car when some guy in a giant pickup truck merged without checking his blind spot and side-swiped us. None of us were hurt - I didn't even have any bruises, and I was in the passenger seat. The damage was mostly to Lauren's front right blinker, which was pretty much destroyed, and the door, which we had trouble opening.

We ended up staying the night at Lauren's house. She's only got one bed, so we all slept in her room. Well, slept might not be the right word. I didn't get much rest at all. I kept coughing every couple minutes, for one thing. And if you've ever tried to fit three people onto a full-sized mattress, you know how crowded it can get. Zac got up to go sleep on the couch after a while, saying it was too hot, so I dived into the middle of the bed and realized he was right. It didn't help that Lauren didn't have the AC on, or that the only blanket she had was a down comforter. Or that, while we were waiting for the police to show up after the crash, Zac kept saying that it would be a really shitty time for a zombie attack. I kept having nightmares about zombies. I remember going out to get a box of Coke, and taking an elevator that opened on the fourth floor, which was really a wasteland with giant chunks of concrete sticking up out of the ground. I hit the button to go up again and it opened on the fifth floor, which was a copy of the fourth. I threw the box out of the elevator to keep any zombies out there from swarming on me (I guess the logic was to distract them?), and a bunch of humans got on the elevator, looked at me funny, and asked me why I didn't have any guns. (Only part of the dream that made sense. Why didn't I have guns?) There was one zombie that was glaring at us, and he looked like he came off the cover of The Devil's Rejects, but he didn't come after us or anything. I don't remember any of the rest of the dream, but that was enough for me to keep waking up and holding very still so that the zombies wouldn't attack me. Lauren kept her bedroom door open, too, so that freaked me out as well. I don't think I got more than four or five hours of sleep that night.

At least I old Lauren about the guy I've been crushing on for the past couple weeks. She said she'd help me out, starting with a hair cut. I don't know if I want to or not, but the person she goes to is relatively cheap so I could at least get a trim and even out my hair. Right now, though, I'm getting mad at myself for being hopeful. I always get hopeful, and it always ends badly for me. I'm doing my best not to be completely obvious, and so far it seems to be working, but I have no idea how long I can keep that up. It's not like he's going to like me as anything other than a friend anyway.
