Friday night around eleven, Nathan suggested we go swimming. I said yes, because I thought we'd be heading to the rec center, but he said we'd be going to the beach. So Sarah and I went to our rooms to get changed, and Nathan and Alyssa went to get Nathan's convertible, and we all drove to Sawyer and talked a lot. We got to his friend Leslie's house, where she gave us permission to go onto the beach (as the beach we went to was private).
It was so foggy, and by the time we got there it was 1:30 or 2:00. Everything was blue, and looked like a scene out of a psychological thriller or a horror movie, and while we were running around and playing in the sand and dipping our feet into the water (which was absolutely freezing because it's Lake Michigan and the lake hasn't warmed up a whole lot yet), the fog slowly grew thicker. We couldn't see the spot where we'd set our clothes, and when we looked back toward the water, there was a mass of fog slowly creeping toward us. The way the moonlight hit it made it look like a giant fish mouth coming to devour us.
When we finally got back to the car, Leslie was up and dressed, so we went out to eat at some diner that served hot cocoa and greasy food. Then Nathan suggested that we spend the night at his house, since it was four in the morning. We did, I ended up on the couch with him, then got moved to another bed when his mom woke up and found us in her house, and then in the morning his dad made us Swedish pancakes. They're like crepes, only thicker and a bit sweeter. YUM. Must find recipe andguinea pigs friends to try said recipe. Har har har.
Will gave me a hand moving my fridge and microwave and the PS2 down to Grandma's. As I'm not planning on ordering out or anything like that, I don't really need the food-related stuff, and the PS2's just going to be a distraction. As is the laptop, but I kind of need that for my papers and stuff. Bah!
I'm so tired. I haven't gotten a lot of sleep this weekend at all. I went to bed at midnight last night, even though I should have spent the time doing more homework (especially since I spent a couple hours out eating with Nathan, Andy, Sarah, and Alyssa, when I could have been writing and working on my Japanese), because I was exhausted and if I didn't get some sleep I think I wouldn't have been able to do ANYTHING today. At least Max helped me with my math homework, which I'll finish up tonight.
I'm going to go back to eating straight from this jar of apple butter now. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.
