Breakfast with Kimi (
latinforgoddess) was awesome, as expected. Ihop makes really, really good chocolate chip pancakes, but their bacon is expensive and you only get two pieces with an order. ;_; I wanted my greasy death-meat, damnit.
So then I went home and watched Arjuna while I waited for Mom to come home. Arjuna = love. (Thank you,
amethyst_mind!) Mom came home and we talked for a while. She told me she's most likely going to be working only part time beginning next school year, teaching only three classes a day. She plans on taking one Spanish class a semester at Michigan State, which would take about three or four years to complete -- but by the end of that time, she'd have enough qualifications to teach Spanish more and would be able to retire after three more years of teaching. That's the "please let me go back to full time teaching when I'm done" reason. The other reasons are that she's just worn out with teaching (she falls asleep really, really early and doesn't do a lot), and she wants to spend more time with Rob and kick his ass with his grades. She says that she can afford it, but she can't put aside more money for me for college. But apparently she has enough to pay a third of my tuition for the next three years, which was the plan anyway -- I just won't get much money from her for anything else.
Hell, I'm happy she's able to pay anything! And I'm glad she's able to take these classes if it means early retirement. She deserves it. I'm surprised she hasn't snapped and gunned her students down, to tell the truth. After seventeen years of teaching, I would probably end up doing that. Especially high school students.
Then I drove to dad's, talked to Jessica a while, bought my new coat (which is a really pretty green with gold and cream trim, and was only $20), and hung out with friends at the Thunderbird. The only thing that sucked today was finding out that, apparently, Beth hasn't paid the cell phone bill. So no one can reach me on my cell -- all it is at the moment is a shiny, glorified phone book.
The plan tomorrow -- have breakfast with Dad, see if Jessica wants to hang out for a little while, go to Olivet and have dinner with Mom. Then Sunday I'll go home, do homework, and have dinner with Grandma.
