I'm tired, and probably a teeny bit intoxicated from the Southern Comfort and Coke I've been nursing all night, but then Jimmy only had one Corona, and everyone else just kept right on drinking. It's amusing and a little scary to be one of the only two sober people.

Our plans for the weekend (us being me, Jimmy, Kelly, Britney, and Dan) were originally for all of us to drive up to Canada to visit Dan and stay at his house. Then we realized that Jimmy and I needed our birth certificates to be let back into the US, and while I could go run to Jackson to get mine, Jimmy couldn't go home and get his and there wasn't enough time to mail it to him. So we decided that Britney and Kelly would drive up to Ontario to pick up Dan, and Jimmy and I would head out later and meet up with them at Britney's house. Jimmy and I left at about one in the afternoon yesterday. We got to Zac's house at around 3:30 (we were going to hang out for a couple hours until Britney, Kelly, and Dan were on their way back), and didn't end up leaving until 9:30 or so. And the only reason we didn't stay the night at Zac's was because I pushed Jimmy into leaving, because I wanted to get all the driving over with. So we ended up at Britney's at around midnight, and they got back five minutes after we pulled into the driveway. Then we all walked to Tim Horton's, had some coffee and donuts, walked back, and went to bed.

The only planned activity for today was to go see X-Men III. I thought it was good. Not "awesome addition to the X-Men series" good, more like a good movie to watch if you just want to watch a movie. I won't get too much into the whole continuity issue (like the fact that there is none), but there was a disappointing lack of Nightcrawler. And the fact that Gambit never showed up through the whole series made me sad. (Colossus, Angel, and Beast almost made up for that, though, along with the Marrow incarnation and the guy who had retractable, needle-like spines.) Hugh Jackman was, as always, an awesome Wolverine, as well as unspeakably hot. Rogue was butchered again. I was not happy at all with the way that she took the cure -- though the end scene, with Magneto tapping into the tiniest bit of his powers, made me a bit happier.

I didn't entirely like the explanation of the Phoenix as a separate part of Jean's personality, but it worked for the movies, I guess. The whole thing got kind of predictable in the end -- I totally called Wolverine having to kill Jean -- but I liked it.

Also, "I'm the Juggernaut, bitch!" is possibly the best line out of all three movies.

Then we went to the park for a while, watched Boondock Saints, lazed around in Britney's backyard, and then played some drinking games which devolved into random babbling and everyone going for a walk while I IMed Will. And now everyone but Jimmy is getting stoned, and I'm going to go to bed soon. We'll be heading home tomorrow, I think.

Retractable spines dude = Spike. Sally and I went squee when we saw him, the geeks that we are ^^ And don't worry, Nightie's in the video game, and they explain why he wasn't in the movie and everything. Alan Cumming even does his voice, so my Drusie's happy.

Mmmmm, Nighty... Nighty makes me teh happy. And I always thought Spike, at least the version that was in the WB cartoon that was on TV a little after the first movie came out, was the incarnation of Marrow. I didn't realize that there was an actual Spike! That's awesome!

Yeah, he was in some of the comics. Very rude, kept calling people names. Not many people liked him, though, so he didn't get any huge roles. I think the only reason they even added him in Evolution was because they needed more 'ethnic minorities'.
