I just spent over two and a half hours in the hospital. For the past three or four days, I've been having pain in the left side of my chest. It's nothing serious -- more annoying than anything -- but when I move, it hurts, and it worried me enough to look for a walk-in clinic. I ended up in the hospital because the clinic I called was having trouble with Blue Cross Blue Shield, which is my insurance provider, and they reccomended that I head to the hospital unless I wanted to shell out $30 for the walk-in fee.

I got in fairly quickly, but the waiting! I waited after the nurse looked me over and asked questions, I waited when they stuck me in the examining room, I waited between taking my blood and giving me X-rays and figuring out what was wrong with me. At least they had TV, because I was stupid enough to forget to bring a book.

The X-rays and blood test pretty much showed nothing, so they gave me a prescribtion for 800mg of Motrin, which I'm supposed to take every eight hours. I'm glad it's nothing serious. So right now, I'm going to sit back and munch on this bag of Sour Patch Kids while I browse LJ.
