I've been re-watching the anime Slayers this weekend, as evidenced by my holing myself up in my room and the rather obvious away message I've put up. I'm just about to start episode fourty, which means I have thirty-eight more episodes and three or four OVAs to watch.
I really haven't watched this show in years. What I did manage to watch was a few tapes from Slayers TRY that my friend Rosie owned, and this was when I was a freshman or sophomore in high school. Of course, with my luck, Slayers TRY ended up being the third and last season of the show, so I'm not going to be watching what I remember for a while. (And what little I do remember involves disliking Amelia for stupid Zelgadis-fangirl reasons, and a bunch of Zelgadis' former henchmen working for the bad guy, one of which was a short anthropomorphic fox with an eye-patch. His name started with a J, I think. Jasper? Anyone want to help me out here?Link? Rosie? Anyone?) Filia probably won't show up until TRY, which is thirteen episodes away.
I don't think there are any characters that I really dislike in Slayers. I mean, watching it now, most of the problems I had with Amelia's character were based on her infatuation with Zelgadis, her crusade for justice (which I now find oddly endearing), and her immaturity (which is really quite prevalent in most of the characters in the first place). She and Lina are a lot younger than I thought they were, too. I'd assumed that Amelia was in her mid-to-late teens, and Lina was in her twenties, but they're actually about the same age. I still can't help thinking that Amelia is younger, though, probably because she's the most naive of the whole group.
Also, for some reason I kept thinking that Naga was Lina's sister. Thank you, Wikipedia. x_X
Anyway! While I was watching the episode in NEXT where they return to Seyruun to find a funeral for Prince Philionel, I couldn't help laughing my ass off at Phil's get-up. He looks like he's cosplaying Batman. And, um... I made icons.

They're kind of lame, but that line kept popping up in my head every time Phil came onscreen. Damn you and your cosplaying ways, Phil!
