Well, Friday Uncle Steve took Neil and I to see the aircraft carrier (I think it's a replica) at Sullivan's Island. It was fun, but I think Steve had more fun than Neil and I. He made fun of me for going down the stair backwards. They were so steep, they were almost ladders! I didn't want to fall on my face. We got home around three in the afternoon, took a half hour to pack, and Jan got us in the car and we drove for three hours to Charlotte, NC. Uncle Steve stayed behind and spent the night in Jan's apartment.

After a rather intense downpour and heavy showers on either side of that, we finally got to Charlotte around seven, a good half hour later than we should have gotten there. We spent the night at Jan's sister Joan's house, and visited with her daughters and their families. In the morning, Neil's mom and her dad came to pick him up, and we got back home around five in the evening. Then Jan, Uncle Steve, and I all went to the ballpark to see the Charleston Riverdogs (who are owned by the Yankees) play against the Augusta Greenjackets. (The only way Jan got me to go was by promising that the players all had nice asses.)

Uncle Steve left this morning, and Jan and I went to Starbucks, then to TJMaxx so she could get some workout clothes. I got a pair of pants, pajama bottoms, two pairs of unmentionables, and a new backpack/purse that I can use in college without looking too much like a freshman. We went to tour the Boone Hall Plantation, which is a really touristy one that's really not as authentic as some other ones that Jan has promised to take me to next time I come down here. Then we went to Barnes & Noble, where I got Blue Moon and Obsidian Butterfly by Laurell K. Hamilton, and here I must make a note to preorder a copy of Eldest by Christopher Paolini -- it's the next book in his Eragon trilogy, and I want to read it soooo badly! Then we went home, had lunch, and went to the beach for about half an hour, before I got sick and threw up and we had to go home. And now we're going to watch The Upside of Anger, and I'll have soup, and maybe I'll feel better before I go to bed.
