I spent the night at Kimi's place last night, since the both of us were feeling rather bored and wished to un-bore the other, and it was late at night and we both had classes in the morning. We talked for a good while and then went to bed somewhere around 12:30 or so. I didn't get quite as much sleep as I'd hoped for - while Kimi waking me up at 7:00 would have been enough, her cat kept pouncing on me, wanting to play, and using me as a pillow.
Every car in the parking lot, including mine, was buried in snow. Kimi had started her car and brushed off the snow before making sure I was ready to go and locking up, and by that time it was covered in snow again. It took me quite a while to get all of the snow off of my car as well, because I had to keep re-brushing places. Finally, I got in the car and turned onto Drake.
Unfortunately, the roads hadn't been plowed yet (and probably still haven't at this point), and as I neared the intersection and tapped my break, my back tires started to drift. I kept trying to straighten out and kept over-correcting, and I ended up fishtailing so badly that I had to hit my brakes to keep from hitting the person in front of me (who was still a couple car-lengths away) and I did an almost-complete 180. I had to drive back to Kimi's apartment, turn around, and try again. I didn't fishtail much on the way back, but my rear tires kept drifting, during left turns and a couple times while I was breaking. I fishtailed again, just a little bit, at the light by the Bernhard Center, but thankfully I didn't hit anybody. And miracle of miracles, I found a parking spot near Sied that was a straight shot from the entrance to the parking lot, so I didn't have to perform a miraculous feat to park and I didn't have to park by the student apartments. I really, really wish my car had four-wheel drive right about now. I'm going to call Kimi after German Conversation to see if she made it to campus okay. I'd have called as soon as I parked the car, but by that time her class had started.
People of Kalamazoo - if you must drive today, be CAREFUL!!!

It SO needed to be a snow day! Oh well. It was good to have you over even though it was a bit brief. We had a good talking. ^_^
