I hate - hate hate hate hate hate - looking for a job. I already have problems being in public; I feel like everyone is looking at me, it's difficult for me to talk to people I don't know, and I feel that every time I open my mouth I end up making a fool out of myself because I am so horrible at human interaction. Everything I say sounds pathetic and laughable. I don't know if I'm socially inept because I'm so insecure, or if I'm so insecure because I'm socially inept. Going into a store and actively asking for a job seems, to me, to be asking for humiliation. I've gotten looks before from clerks when I asked this question. "You? Get a job here? Yeah, right." That kind of look. It was only once or twice, but it still made me feel like a chump for even trying. I hate being in these situations. I don't know what to say, how to say it, or how to apply for a job and not get disappointed when someone else gets it.

Of course, I'm also rather lazy. I make no secret of that. I'd rather play video games all day than go work in a store or kitchen. But Kingdom Hearts doesn't give me actual money, nor is it a good job reference. Tomorrow I'm definitely going up to the campus and re-checking the computer lab, then asking the library and the dining halls for a job. There's got to be someone who'll hire me there, right? An on-campus job would help a lot. Getting a job downtown means I have to pay to park there, and I don't want to depend on the bus for transportation. And, damnit, I was looking forward to seeing if the downtown library would hire me. That place is really spiffy. I need to take pictures of the kid's section there sometime, so you can all see the stained glass windows.

Speaking of campus, I got a hold of Mary, my roommate, yesterday. Took me two tries, a wrong number, and a call to Mom to reach her, as I wrote the number down wrong and ended up reaching a man who wasn't incredibly rude, but wasn't exactly the nicest person. ("May I speak to Mary ***?" "Who?" "Mary ***?" "You have the wrong number." [Said in a deadpan, no-nonsense, "Get off my phoneline, biotch!" voice.] "Oh.... *click*") She seems pretty nice to me, from the conversation we had. She likes Harry Potter. See, there's something good about her!

Yay crazy owners! Too bad the guys at Dunkin' Donuts were not crazy, only assholes.

I don't know if there's one on campus, and the thing is, campus jobs are going to be better than off-campus jobs, as I don't have a parking permit and wouldn't use my car much anyway if I did.

Well, if there is a Cici's around, you'll most likely run into John or Craig eventually. I think they run things around there too. Damn rich people.
