MAGNA CUM LAUDE, BABY! YEAH!!!!!

Ahem.

Okay. First off, Jessica IS going to graduate. Apparently they messed up the transcripts from her last school, and she failed a class she apparently needed, but she'll be walking and making it up at summer school. So, phew!

Honors Convocation tonight. Magna cum laude, Michigan Merit Award, Art & German Department Awards, and the First Year Academic Award. Interesting key points: Forrest got the cum laude (wtf?) award, plus the NASSP American Citizenship Award (wtf-on-a-stick?); Ben W., who is a damn good student, only got HONOR ROLL instead of any of the cum laude awards; Ricky H. didn't get the Vocal Music departmental award. Oh, and my mom was wondering how I could get Magna cum laude, and only have a first year academic award. Yeah, that doesn't make too much sense. Oh well.

My ice cream is melting. Strawberry cheesecake, and toasted almond fudge. In a waffle cone. Woo!

Magna Cum Laude is a "class" of honors. Besides the typical honor roll status, there are three classes of honors that you can graduate with. There is Cum Laude (which I'm graduating with), Magna Cum Laude, and Summa Cum Laude.
